When I finally decided that without God I would have nothing in my life, I decided that HE has got to be the priority in my life. Before my husband, before my children, before my family, before my friends, before checking email, before ANY of that, God has got to be first! I will not get on the computer in the mornings before I read my Bible. If I do not have time to listen and talk with God, I do not have time to check email, the news, and yes, no time to check facebook! There is so much in this world that we busy ourselves with that we lose site of what we should really be busy doing! We need to be busy doing God's work.
Have you read the Bible today? Have you prayed? Have you done something for someone with a servant's heart? Have you answered someone with a soft answer?
God created man in HIS image. We are obviously not perfect and will never be, I, for sure am not perfect, but we are to serve, love, and try our best to be like the Lord. In everything we do, everything we say, everywhere we go, everything we hear, everything we see, we are to bring honor and glory to the one who gave His only Son for us. God made Jesus to be sin for us! If Jesus died on the cross for us and paid the price for us to have eternal life, then why is it so hard for us to serve Him in everything and with everything we have????
God says we are to be in the world but not love the things of the world.
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." I John 2:15
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2
I urge you today to examine your life and ask God to help you see what things are keeping you from serving Him. What is taking up your time during the day? Is it the television, the computer, reading books, schooling your children, work, cleaning, or even over committing yourself in ministries for church? Whatever it is, ask for God to forgive you for neglecting Him and to help you get your priorities straight today! You won't regret it!
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." Mark 12:30
